Every headshot has a purpose. You know best what you want people to see when they look at your portrait in the intranet, an annual report or a flyer the design department has just thrown out into public.

Don’t leave things to chance. Speak to your colleagues, your head of communications or anyone who is responsible to call the photographer. Let them know it is about personal branding, not about pricing or personal connections. Tell them about the importance of the image as a characterisation of yourself. Tell them you simply can’t do with a crappy bread-and-butter photographer!
